Harness your passion for the environment and become a certified Master Naturalist. This 12-week certification course will teach you how to identify and explore the natural history of birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects, plants and fungi. There will be hands-on presentations and field trips with local experts. With this certification, you’ll be able to aid with park stewardship, conduct field research and lead educational programs. And, you’ll be recognized state-wide as an expert volunteer. Applications are due by Jan. 15. We will primarily meet at Meadowside Nature Center in Rockville, Brookside Nature Center in Silver Spring, Black Hill Visitor Center in Boyds, and Locust Grove Nature Center in Bethesda. We will also tour various historical sites, parks, and conservation areas. A full schedule of topics and rotating meeting locations will be shared on request. Event link:
