Performer Info

Eric Benet: Born and reared in Milwaukee as Eric Benét Jordan, Benét is the youngest of five from a very musical household. His father, a police detective, loved classical music. Whereas, his mother would sing around the house, even singing the duties to the kids. In addition, Eric's older siblings gave him a big dose of Stevie Wonder, who is one of his top musical influences. Eric was also influenced by Al Green, Sly Stone, Donny Hathaway, Chaka Khan, Earth, Wind & Fire, Marvin Gaye, Steely Dan, the Beatles, Queen and gospel music among others. He started showcasing his musical talent in church in the gospel choir. Eventually, he expanded to school plays and musicals. Eric soon realized at a young age that he wanted to pursue music professionally. Eric's first professional break came when he joined a local group, Gerard, in the late 80's. They toured various night clubs and small venues covering top 40 tunes. It was during this time that Eric learned through experience. He experimented and performed all types of music from rock to pop to soul to hip hop.

Temika Moore: There are those that believe music has become too accessible, and is therefore a perfect storm for artistic mediocrity. There are even ramblings music has become "dumbed down." In the music sphere, there is unequivocal evidence we are increasingly moving away from "real music." Echoing elements of Jazz, Soul, and Gospel music, Temika Moore is a well-blended musical cocktail for those thirsty for "real music."

Born and raised in the rich musical legacy of Philadelphia, Temika attended the Philadelphia High School for Creative & Performing arts where she choraled the halls with fellow industry mates Boyz II Men, Amel Larrieux, Christian McBride, Lizz Fields, Joey DeFrancesco, Amhir "?uestlove" Thompson, Tariq "Black Thought" Trotter, Karen Slack and Tamika Patton. Shortly after graduating from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore where she received the first Ella Fitzgerald music scholarship award, Temika further developed her sound performing at numerous venues in the Washington, DC area and abroad.

Temika Moore is regarded by many as a vocal virtuoso sharing the title with powerhouses Rachelle Ferrell, Ledisi, Maysa, Lizz Wright, Carol Riddick and Lalah Hathaway. Considered under-the-radar of mainstream celebrity culture, those that have discovered Temika’s body of work consider themselves to be among an exclusive group of music aficionados. She has shared the stage with Will Downing, Roy Ayers, Marcus Johnson and the late Stanley Turrentine. She has also opened for Kem, Ledisi, Dwele, Conya Doss, Cassandra Wilson, Najee, Pieces of a Dream, Melba Moore and Jean Carne. If any of these illuminated artists are one of your desert island picks, make room for Temika Moore.
